The inspection in St Matthews started in the bathroom, where growth had spread across the ceiling around the light fixture and down into the corner above the window. Ceramic tile on the floor was lifted so the subfloor beneath it could be reached and dried properly instead of being closed back up under a finished surface. Exposed framing and surfaces were HEPA vacuumed and wiped down, and an antimicrobial was applied to the cleaned material.

Drying equipment then ran on the open cavity, the framing and the subfloor while we tracked readings at fixed points until they met the dry standard for those materials and held there. The crawl space was cleaned and treated the same way, because a bathroom ceiling in St Matthews will not stay dry if the space under the floor keeps feeding humidity back into the structure above it.

Once the readings held and the cleaned areas passed a final inspection, the containment came down and reconstruction followed: new ceiling material, finish work, and replacement of the flooring that had been removed, returning the bathroom to dry, usable condition.
